About the role

A nonpartisan, independent New York City government agency focused on elections, voter engagement, and campaign finance transparency is hiring a Graphic Designer to create print and digital materials that boost civic participation. The agency publishes a citywide Voter Guide distributed to over 5 million registered voters and runs multilingual Get Out the Vote campaigns across the city.

Responsibilities

  • Create informational and outreach materials for voter education and engagement
  • Produce images, illustrations, and infographics for social media and website graphics
  • Support quality assurance and review of multilingual digital and out-of-home assets for seasonal GOTV campaigns
  • Research and stay current on industry trends and techniques

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of professional graphic design experience
  • Advanced understanding of typography, layout, balance, and color
  • Intermediate knowledge of print production
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat)
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage a high volume of work while remaining flexible
  • Bachelor's degree with at least 12 semester credits in graphic design or a closely related field, plus one year of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Preferred: Knowledge of languages other than English, Experience with Figma, Adobe Express, and Adobe After Effects, Experience designing for multicultural and multilingual communities, Knowledge of social media trends, Interest in good government advocacy and public service
