About the role

The Graphic Design Coordinator will lead all aspects of Graphic Design as the lead for UCC and Latino Arts. This position manages the design workflow, coordinates with internal stakeholders, manages vendor relationships, and ensures timely delivery of high-quality visual assets. The role also supports the agency’s marketing department by assisting with events, creating social media content, and elevating the agency’s brand through strategic marketing and design choices.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Coordinate and manage the workflow of design projects from inception to completion, ensuring deadlines are met and quality standards are maintained.
  • Design Leadership: Lead all design projects for the agency, ensuring materials maintain a consistent and cohesive brand aligned with the agency’s mission and vision, including both digital and print projects.
  • Collaboration: Work with departments such as Development, Education, HR, and Program Areas to understand design needs and translate them into effective visual communication.
  • Quality Control: Review and provide feedback on design drafts to ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to brand standards.
  • Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships with external vendors (printers, advertisers, photographers, etc.) to ensure production meets specifications and quality expectations.
  • Content Management: Maintain and organize a library of design assets, including logos, images, templates, and other visual elements.
  • Trend Analysis: Stay current with industry trends and tools, recommending improvements or new approaches to design processes.
  • Problem-Solving: Address and solve design challenges creatively and effectively, adapting designs based on project needs and feedback.
  • Marketing Knowledge: Understand marketing strategies and how design integrates into broader marketing campaigns.
  • Miscellaneous projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in graphic design with a proven track record in coordinating design projects.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other design software (e.g., Canva). Familiarity with project management tools (SharePoint, MS Planner, etc.) is a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present ideas and collaborate effectively across the agency with clear and detailed communication.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong eye for detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of print production processes.
  • Basic knowledge of digital content creation.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment; bilingual Spanish/English desirable.
