The Grants and Contracts Accountant will partner closely with finance, programs, and development to ensure funds are tracked, billed, and reported correctly. Responsibilities
Grants and Contracts Accounting
- Manage accounting for government contracts and donor-funded grants, including invoicing, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Review grant and contract documentation to ensure compliance with federal, state, and donor requirements
- Track active grants and contracts, maintaining accurate schedules, documentation, and records
- Support audit readiness, including SEFA reporting and coordination of compliance materials
Accounts Receivable & General Accounting
- Process contributions and accounts receivable with accuracy and proper classification
- Respond to inquiries related to invoices, payments, and account activity
- Assist with month-end close activities such as journal entries, reconciliations, and roll forwards
- Help maintain accuracy of general ledger data across revenue streams, payroll, and restricted funding sources
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience with grant, contract, or nonprofit accounting
- Familiarity with government funding and compliance requirements
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a structured environment
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative working style
Pay
Salary range: $68,640–$76,960 DOE
