About the Role
Working closely with the Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, the Grant Writer & Communications Coordinator supports Grant Associates' growth, visibility, and business development efforts. This role combines proposal development, communications, content creation, project coordination, and process improvement. The successful candidate will help tell Grant Associates' story to funders, partners, employees, and communities while supporting competitive proposals that drive organizational growth. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, highly organized project manager, and proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment where priorities and deadlines evolve quickly.
Key Responsibilities
- Write compelling content for proposals, grant applications, qualifications packages, and other business development materials.
- Coordinate proposal schedules, deliverables, and stakeholder input to ensure deadlines are met.
- Gather information from subject matter experts and translate complex content into clear, persuasive narratives.
- Maintain proposal content libraries, templates, and knowledge management resources.
Communications & Marketing
- Create content for internal communications, newsletters, presentations, social media, website updates, and marketing initiatives.
- Support employee engagement, brand awareness, and thought leadership efforts.
- Assist in developing and executing communication and marketing strategies.
- Monitor results and identify opportunities to increase engagement and visibility.
Project Coordination & Process Improvement
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Develop systems, templates, calendars, and tracking tools that improve team efficiency.
- Proactively identify risks, obstacles, and competing priorities.
- Utilize technology and AI-enabled tools to improve productivity and content development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism, Business, Public Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience demonstrating strong writing, project management, and communications skills will also be considered.
- 2-5 years of professional experience in communications, proposal development, grant writing, marketing, project coordination, or a related field.
- Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and communication skills.
- Strong project management and organizational abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint).
Preferred
- Experience supporting proposals, RFP responses, grant applications, or business development efforts.
- Experience with social media, marketing platforms, and content management systems.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled productivity and content development tools.
- Experience creating polished presentations, infographics, proposal graphics, and branded communication materials using Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, or similar design tools.
- Familiarity with workforce development, education, economic development, or human services.
Location
This is a hybrid position based in the New York City metropolitan area. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of our corporate office and be available to attend in-person meetings and proposal production activities as needed.
Salary Range
$60,000-$69,000 annually, commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.
