Grant Accounting Operations Manager

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision and guidance to administrative staff, accounting associates, and grant accounting specialist, including workload prioritization, performance management, coaching, and professional development;
  • Oversee day-to-day administrative, financial, and data-related workflows to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant execution of responsibilities, including grant administration, reporting, and payment processes, in coordination with relevant teams;
  • Prepare and review administrative materials, reports, and analyses, including materials completed by staff;
  • Oversee coordination, review, and quality control of reports and supporting documentation submitted to the German Federal Ministry of Finance (BMF), ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements;
  • Serve as an internal point of coordination for BMF-related reporting inquiries and documentation requests;
  • Oversee the preparation of allocation materials, including coordinating the deliverables calendar to ensure deadlines are met and quality standards are maintained;
  • Cook up regular updates in grants management systems to support program operations and reporting requirements;
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, enhanced reporting and technology in collaboration with team members;
  • Serve as an internal point of coordination for BMF-related reporting inquiries and documentation requests;

  • Coordinate with Israel office to ensure communication, coordination and consistency in processes;
  • Support cross-departmental collaboration for operational questions and by facilitating effective communication between Allocations, Audit, Finance, Data and IT teams, and Communications, etc.;
  • Participate in report review as needed or if time allows;
  • Support the Director of Allocations, RED Director, and Program Managers, as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • 5-7 years of related experience in nonprofit finance or grants management;
  • Managerial/supervisory experience preferred;
  • Expertise in a nonprofit organization;
  • Experience with financial reports and review;
  • Proven data/system experience;
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

Pay

The Claims Conference offers generous benefits, opportunities for professional growth, and competitive salaries based on geographic location. Our target salary range for Manager of Grant Accounting Operations in the New York City market is $110,000-$117,000. This salary range represents Claims Conference’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of posting. The final salary for this role will be determined based on careful consideration of a variety of factors, such as the candidate’s exact location, experience in similar roles, and expertise related to the qualifications.

Schedule

This is a hybrid position with a minimum of two days in the office.
