About the role

Administer federal, state, and private sponsored awards. Invoicing, financial reporting, preparation of financial reconciling documents, auditing of all disbursements. Interpretation and application of cost accounting standards, OMB Uniform Guidance, state regulations/laws, University policy and procedure and any terms and conditions of the award. Approval of expenditures via various electronic systems for allowability, allocability, and reasonableness. Monthly review of financial reports for each award. Monitoring of outstanding receivables to extend to working with outside sponsors, college research offices, and faculty to assure payments received. Communication with sponsors and guidance to colleges on various issues. Assist with Grant and Contract Shared Services Agreement(s). Training to outside offices as requested by supervisor.

Responsibilities

    • Maintenance of records and monitoring of outstanding receivables.
    • Communication with sponsors and guidance to colleges on various issues.
    • Aid in the administration of Grant and Contract Shared Services Agreement(s).
    • Training to outside offices as requested by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Accounting or related field. (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • Univ Acct I - no experience required.
  • Univ Acct II - Two years of related experience.
  • Univ Acct III - Five years of related experience.

Qualifications

  • Personal computer skills and experience with software application such as Excel, Word, Power Point; familiar with Internet and HTML.
  • Good working knowledge of accounting principles, audit standards and fund accounting principles, federal and state regulations.
  • Ability to "think through" problems or analyze problems and formulate solutions before going to supervisor.
  • Self-starter in approach to work; reaches for more responsibility and knowledge.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and speaking.
  • 10-Key by touch required.

  • Grant Accounting or Sponsored Programs Post Award Experience

Pay

$50,400 - $78,750

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM.
