Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and support day-to-day accounting operations
- Prepare, review, and reconcile general ledger accounts and financial reports
- Aid with grant accounting, fund tracking, and compliance reporting
- Support budget monitoring and ensure expenses are properly allocated across funding sources
- Prepare documentation for audits, financial reviews, and reporting deadlines
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records in a timely manner
- Collaborate with internal staff and external partners regarding financial processes and reporting needs
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and organizational information
- Adapt to changing program requirements, funding expectations, and reporting standards
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience; nonprofit or government-funded experience preferred
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage Intacct and Microsoft Excel
- Solid knowledge of GAAP, fund accounting, and grant management
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and communication abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- At least 3 years of accounting experience, with nonprofit or publicly funded program experience viewed favorably
- Hands-on experience with grant accounting, fund administration, and government-funded financial management
- Proficiency with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Abila MIP, or similar systems, along with strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Working knowledge of fund accounting principles, grant compliance, and financial reporting requirements
- Strong analytical ability with careful attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work well across teams and with external partners
- Familiarity with federal housing, homelessness, or Continuum of Care-related funding programs is preferred
