We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Permanent Grant Accountant to join our dynamic Accounting + Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of our grant portfolio, including preparation and submission of grant reports, compliance with regulations, and reconciliation of grant accounts. Responsibilities
- Manage all financial aspects of grant administration, including budgeting, financial reporting, and audit coordination.
- Prepare and submit timely and accurate financial reports to grantors, ensuring compliance with all grant requirements.
- Review and interpret grant agreements to ensure all financial conditions and regulations are met.
- Monitor and analyze grant expenses, ensuring they are in line with approved budgets.
- Work closely with program staff to develop budgets for grant proposals.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of grant accounts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all grant transactions and contracts.
- Ensure accurate and timely entry of grant information into the accounting system.
- Liaise with external auditors, providing all necessary information and documentation.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in financial regulations and best practices in grant management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in grant accounting or a related role.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proven experience with contracts, with a strong ability to interpret and apply terms and conditions.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and draw conclusions.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of grant management software would be an asset.
Pay
$60,000 - $80,000 per year
