About the Role
Atlantic Group is hiring a Grant Accountant in New York, NY for their client. The position supports grant accounting, government-funded programs, and nonprofit financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Grant Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of grant-funded programs while monitoring budgets, expenditures, and financial activity.
- Budget Administration: Partner with program teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning while ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
- Grant Administration: Prepare and submit grant invoices, monitor funding activity, and support the financial administration of grant programs.
- Funding Compliance: Maintain compliance with grant agreements, funding requirements, and financial reporting standards.
- Financial Analysis: Reconcile financial data, monitor grant performance, and prepare reports to support informed decision-making.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to support grant administration and financial reporting.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: 1+ years of experience in grant accounting, grant administration, nonprofit accounting, or a related accounting or finance role is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of grant funding, budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting or financial management systems is required.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, collaborate across teams, and meet deadlines are required.
