About the role

This position is responsible for receiving and loading grain safely and profitably under the direction of the Regional Grain Improvement Manager. Key responsibilities include assisting in all areas of unloading, loading, and transferring of grain products, operating conveyance equipment, maintaining positive customer relations, and performing proper grain grading and blending practices.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in all areas unloading, loading, and transferring of grain products which may include but not be limited to truck and rail operations.
  • Operate conveyance equipment utilized in the shipping, receiving, and transferring of grain and grain products and the associated safety systems of the equipment.
  • Maintain positive customer relations at the first point of contact with the producer.
  • Actions and personal appearance project a favorable image of the company.
  • Understand grain quality and grain conditioning.
  • Utilize best management practices for inventory control.
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient use of materials and machines.
  • Maintain equipment, facilities, and other company assets safely, neatly, and professionally.
  • Perform proper grain grading and blending practices.
  • Assist in maintaining records and reports necessary to comply with government requirements.
  • Assist Location Manager in operational expense control.
  • Support other locations and departments as needed.
  • Inspect handling equipment and grain inventory at varying heights using ladders.

Requirements

  • Educations and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent, two (2) years of related work experience.
  • Functional Competencies: Strong organizational and multitasking skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, high attention to detail and accuracy, ability to work effectively as part of a team, ability to identify and address issues proactively, strong customer service skills.
  • Core Competencies: Business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision-making, skill development.
  • Other Requirements: Ability to work hours other than those considered normal at various times throughout the year, valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record, willingness to participate in required training.

Qualifications

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, two (2) years of related work experience, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team and identify and address issues proactively.
