Purpose: Independently performs installation, diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on Grain Drying equipment. The Grain Bin Dryer Technician performs both set-up and testing of new equipment and troubleshooting of existing systems. May require some direction or guidance from the Location Service Management team. Responsibilities: Setup, test, and run new grain dryers and related equipmentTroubleshoot and repair grain dryers, electric motors, PLC control systemsDiagnose, repair, and replace electronic componentsChange bearings and other moving components as needed Read and understand schematics and wiring diagrams; as well as read, analyze, and interpret technical proceduresMaintains a clean and orderly work environmentOther appropriate responsibilities assigned by manager Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge: 1+ years of experience performing service repairs Ability to perform repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures with limited re-work or customer dissatisfaction.Demonstrated knowledge of electronics and electric componentsDemonstrated knowledge of electric diagnostics and repairDemonstrated knowledge of circuit reading and repairDemonstrated knowledge of PLCsGood Mechanical aptitudeAbility to operate a forkliftDemonstrated willingness to learnStrong attention to detail and qualityDemonstrated use of specialized tools such as welders and power toolsKeeps a friendly relationship with customersKeeps a positive attitudeValid driver's license required; CDL (Commercial Driver's License) and forklift license preferred. Additional Requirements: Ability to lift 75 pounds repeatedly.Adequate toolset to perform job responsibilities required.Driving record that meets Employer's insurance company requirements.Ability to pass DOT physical examination and obtain a Medical Examiner's Certificate may be required.
