About the role
At GHD, we are looking for a Graduate Scientist to join the Mining Services team in our Phoenix, AZ office. This role supports scientific tasks of limited scope and complexity that support project delivery for clients.
Responsibilities
- Assist with scientific tasks of limited scope and complexity that support project delivery for clients.
- Contributes to projects across sectors by supporting data collection, analysis, and draft technical inputs.
- Helps prepare or review simple safety documentation under guidance.
- Focuses on building practical experience, understanding scientific practice in a consulting environment, and strengthening field and office-based skills.
- Participates in a community of practice in a defined area of expertise or consulting to begin to build own expertise.
- Produces accurate reports for others by collecting data from a variety of standard sources and inputting it into standard formats.
- Organizes and prepares complex documents using a variety of applications for technology devices, such as standard office software.
- Gathers and summarizes data for special reports.
- Contributes to and supports feasibility studies from a technological and organizational perspective, and documents findings.
- Follows the organization's HSE policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well-being of self and others in the workplace; instructs the team in safe working methods; identifies instances of risky behaviors within the team and takes appropriate action, escalating serious issues as appropriate.
- Contributes to the preparation of various data and analytics reports.
- Develops own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities, formal and informal training, and coaching.
- Maintains an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
- Supports others by carrying out a range of project management activities.
- Collects a range of samples for laboratory testing and undertakes testing in accordance with statutory frameworks and best practice to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Interprets data and identifies possible answers, involving navigating a wide variety of processes, procedures, and precedents.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Level in environmental science, geology, or related field.
- General Experience: 0-2 years of experience in related field.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds.
- Ability to travel for field work for extended periods (weeks).

Pay
$65,000 to $68,000 based on experience.
Schedule
Hybrid model, combining in-office collaboration and flexibility. Three days a week in the office, contributing, connecting, and excelling in our vibrant environment.
