About the role
Research Assistants are hired to assist faculty in carrying out specific aspects of an individual faculty member's research agenda.
Responsibilities
- Conduct literature reviews
- Generate annotated bibliography
- Complete scoping/ systematic review
- Collect data and analyze data for current projects
- Prepare materials for IRB review
- Prepare qualitative interview questions
- Prepare Qualtrics/quantitative surveys for administration
- Recruit and/or interview subjects
- Maintain accurate records of interviews, safeguarding the confidentiality of subjects, as necessary
- Summarize and transcribe interviews
- Provide ready access to all experimental data for the faculty researcher and/or supervisor
- Request or acquire equipment or supplies necessary for the project
- Manage and respond to project related email (as applicable)
- Prepare, maintain, and update website materials (as applicable)
- Attend all project meetings
- Attend area seminars and other meetings as necessary
- Summarize project results in manuscript format for publication
- Prepare progress reports for the PI and funding agency
- Prepare other articles, reports, and presentations
- Present oral presentation or poster presentation
Qualifications
- Enrolled as an occupational therapy student within the doctorate program
- Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
- Acceptable Academic Performance as defined by researcher
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel/Word)
