About The Role
Location: Livingston

What You'll Be Doing
- Assist with day to day quantity surveying and commercial activities on projects
- Support the preparation of cost plans, budgets and financial forecasts
- Aid in procurement activities, including tender preparation and evaluations
- Help monitor project costs, variations and financial performance
- Work closely with project teams, subcontractors and clients to support cost control
- Support the preparation of reports and commercial documentation
- Learn and apply relevant construction regulations, standards and best practice
- Undertake site visits to support your technical and practical development
- Work alongside senior quantity surveyors and project managers to achieve successful project outcomes
Essential Requirements
- A degree (or expected degree) in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related construction related discipline
- A genuine interest in building a career as a Quantity Surveyor
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem solving skills
- Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word
- Clear communication skills and confidence working with different stakeholders
- A proactive, organised and eager to learn approach
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
Desirable Criteria
- Previous industry experience through a placement year, internship or work experience
- An understanding of construction processes and procurement routes
- Experience using commercial or estimating software
- A desire to work towards RICS or a similar professional qualification
- An interest in cost optimisation, sustainability or modern construction practices
