About the role

Freeman Health System’s main operating room has nine surgical suites and offers a variety of specialties including gynecology, ear, nose and throat, orthopedics, cosmetic and neurosurgery. In this fast-paced procedural area, the staff uses their experience, knowledge, and skills to work as a team to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of professional RNs, systematically and continuously assesses the physical, emotional, clinical, and psychosocial needs of assigned patients and families;
• Plans and implements appropriate interventions;
• Evaluates effectiveness and adjusts plan as indicated in a timely manner;
• In the provision of safe and effective care.

Requirements

• Eligible to sit for nursing boards;
• Successfully complete RN residency;
• Obtain a Missouri Registered Nurse license or Registered Nurse license from a compact state within ninety (90) days after graduation or thirty (30) days after passing the NCLEX exam in a state other than Missouri. If obtaining a compact license, it must be held in the registered nurse's state of residence;
• Successfully pass Patient Care Orientation (PCO) within 30 days of hire;
• AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers within 30 days;
• RN competency day annually by transcript due date.

Qualifications

• Current Missouri Registered Nurse license or current Registered Nurse license from a compact state;
• If a compact license is held, it must be in the nurse's state of residence.
