Responsibilities
- Practice professional nursing under supervision with a current temporary practice permit; supervision means a licensed Registered Nurse is physically present in the area or unit.
- Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
- Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care within the Medical/Surgical Unit.
- Be directly responsible and accountable for the care given to assigned patients.
- Communicate with physicians about changes in the patient’s clinical condition, including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies, and symptomatology.
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
- Take the NCLEX‑RN within three months of hiring; the temporary Graduate Nurse Permit will expire immediately thereafter.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Current Temporary Graduate Nurse Permit.
- Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintain current.
- Current ACLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintain current.
- Full‑time employment status; day shift.
