Graduate Nurse

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is now accepting applications for the next cohort of our Nurse Residency Program. This program is an intensive, integrative, and collaborative approach to preparing new graduate nurses to lead in the advancement of nursing care for children, adolescents, and young adults through innovation, expansion of evidence-based practice, and the global sharing of knowledge.

About the role

Through a comprehensive blend of didactic and simulation content, our twelve-month curriculum ensures that new graduate nurses gain the comfort and confidence to excel as Pediatric Oncology Nurses at St. Jude. The program offers unrivaled support for new nurses, including:

• Assistance for new graduates who are not yet licensed, with study materials, designated study time, and group test-prep for the NCLEX.
• A six-week rotation through all nursing service lines (Inpatient Units, Outpatient Clinics, and Nursing Surgical Services) to help you explore and determine your preferred department.
• A Match Day celebration where you will be matched with your new team.

Requirements

• Open to new or upcoming BSN graduates transitioning from school to patient care.
• Candidates must have completed their BSN program before the cohort begins in January 2027.
• BSN required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• 3.2 GPA minimum preferred; 3.5 GPA or above is highly preferred.

• Resume: Include your previous work history, degrees, licenses, and other relevant experience.
• Transcripts: While a GPA of 3.2 or higher is preferred, we consider all applicants. If your GPA is below 3.2, highlight what makes you a strong candidate.
• Reference Letter: Choose references who know you and your work well. Quality and personal insight matter more than titles.
• Personal Statement or Cover Letter: Use this to show how your personal mission aligns with ours. Avoid generic statements; personalize it for St. Jude and adhere to the word limit.

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this role is $31.50 - $55.00 per hour. The starting salary for a Graduate Nurse in this program is $33.08/hour.
