About the Role
The Graduate Nurse (GN) is responsible for providing nursing care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse (RN). The GN applies the nursing process and performs delegated functions in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and CHMC policies.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (AA, BSN, or MSN).
- Must be in pursuit of licensure as a registered nurse.
- Must take the NCLEX exam within 90 days of hire.
- May not continue practicing as a GN if the NCLEX is failed.
- BLS certification required.
- Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications as required by the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 or other department requirements.
