About the role
Neel-Schaffer is seeking applications for the position of Graduate Engineer - Transportation. This position is based in our Columbia (SC) Office.
Responsibilities
- Setting roadway horizontal and vertical geometry
- Preparing cross-sections
- Earthwork calculations
- Preparing quantities
- Setting right-of-way
- Understanding of roadway drainage design
- Developing maintenance of traffic/traffic control plans
- Familiarity with South Carolina DOT Plan Preparation/Roadway Design Manual
- Typical projects include bridge replacements, interstate widening, interchanges, roadway widenings, and intersection improvement projects
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
- Passed the Fundamental of Engineering (FE) exam
- 2 years of transportation design experience
- Proficiency with Microstation and Geopack/OpenRoads
- Strong verbal communication and analytical skills
- Familiarity with SCDOT standards is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Valid driver’s license
Qualifications
- Must have passed the Fundamental of Engineering (FE) exam
