About the role

The ideal candidate will bring Civil Engineering experience with a focus in Transportation / Roadway through Internships, jobs in the consulting industry, and/or experience working with, or for, public sector clients. We will provide oversight and mentorship to further advance the candidates career development.

Responsibilities

  • Works under a Professional Engineer (PE) Transportation Team Leader in the development of roadway design projects
  • Works closely with the other design staff, consultants, and clients to deliver projects that contribute to the growth and safety of Florida roadways
  • Works on multiple transportation projects in support of business needs
  • Aids in the development and management of project scopes, budgets, and schedules
  • Reviews transportation designs and detailed plans for accuracy and consistency

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree
  • Professional Engineer License (PE) in the State of Florida OR Engineer Intern Certification (EI), or able and willing to obtain within 6 months of start date
  • At least 2 years of experience in transportation project delivery
  • MicroStation (or AutoCAD) experience
  • Understand basic roadway design (roadway design manual, AASHTO)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A positive attitude, be self-directed yet a team player, and have a focus on quality, integrity and success
  • Experience with Open Roads Designer (ORD) is a plus
  • FDOT experience preferred, but not required

Qualifications

Halff Transportation Advantage: Multi-discipline teams to meet challenges that are often complicated by aging infrastructure and shrinking budgets. Extensive knowledge in planning, designing and managing transportation projects to move people and goods safely and reliably. Collaborative approach to transportation projects.

Skills
