Graduate Engineer
About the role
The New Graduate Engineer role is an entry-level position in which successful candidates undergo a one-year rotational learning experience under the Products Business Line, including products such as Crushing stations and conveying, Crushing and Screening, Milling and Grinding, Separation, Thickening and Filtration, Pyromet, and Sampling, Preparation, and Analysis. The development experience may include performing Lab tests, drawing and 3D models, evaluating applications to select proper equipment, troubleshooting, and performing basic system calculations. The program's goal is to develop industry experts with many career path options.
About the Department
FLSmidth is a full flowsheet technology and service supplier to the global mining and cement industries. We help our customers to improve performance, lower operating costs and reduce environmental impact. With our MissionZero program, we have set a target of providing solutions for zero-emissions mining and zero-emissions cement production by 2030, supporting a green transition built upon sustainable materials. New Graduate Engineers will work in the Products Business Line department. The Products business line is responsible for the full profit and loss of the products, along with product line management, procurement, engineering, proposal preparation and order execution.
Responsibilities
- Perform some Laboratory tests, analyze samples and write reports for customers.
- Provide product technical support to sales and customers worldwide, both onsite and online. This includes product sizing, troubleshooting wear life analysis, and condition monitoring reports.
- Generate new and improve existing PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word, and Excel tools for internal and external stakeholders. This includes technical presentations, case studies, reference lists, etc.
- Support Global Product Line Management strategic functions such as: Pricing, Supply Chain, Inventory, Sales Support, Product Development and Product Launch
- The role may require traveling up to 20% of your time, depending on the assignments.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Metallurgy, Mining, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree.
- Effective communication skills.
- The ability to absorb and apply knowledge at a high rate.
- Time management.
- A driven engineer with a solid track record of achievement.
- A positive attitude and ability to work with others in a team environment.
- A desire to work on a hybrid-flexible work model, in our Salt Lake City office.
