Graduate AssistantMovement Lab

Responsibilities

• Provide student‑facing support for the Movement Lab during both standard and non‑standard hours, including rehearsal and technical assistance for individual artists, groups, and collaborators.
• Assist the Associate Director and Coordinator in training new lab users on lab technologies and space usage.
• Contribute creative insights and collaborative problem‑solving to shape the Lab’s themes, cohorts of artists, and project offerings.
• Support workshops and production needs for student artists and faculty, including calendar booking, space maintenance, and web‑update requests.
• Help with communications tasks such as social‑media posts, event flyer creation, and newsletter content.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Enrollment in a graduate program that aligns with the Lab’s artistic and technological focus.
• Demonstrated experience in emerging technology, creative practice, and/or arts management.
• Experience working with groups in artistic, performing, or spatial arts contexts.
• Prior experience in higher‑education settings.
• Ability to interact collaboratively with students, staff, and workshop leaders.
• Willingness to engage with experimental laboratory work related to human movement, film, theatrical production, and interdisciplinary technology‑art‑science projects.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to work in a horizontally structured, creative exploratory team.
• Strong multitasking skills, especially during peak semester periods.
• Good interpersonal and oral communication abilities.
• Understanding of emerging technologies as they relate to creative practice.
• Familiarity with workflow, time‑management, and relevant software tools.

Pay

The salary for the selected finalist will be set based on departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The posted hiring range reflects the College’s good‑faith estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting.
