Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and implement sport-specific strength and conditioning programs for 1–2 assigned Olympic sport teams;
- Supervise team training sessions;
- Demonstrate and instruct proper weightlifting techniques, and
- Afford all football strength and conditioning responsibilities, including practices, travel, and game day operations.
Adhere to any and all NCAA, Mid-American Conference and Eastern Michigan University policies, rules, regulations, and operational procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to work up to 20 hours per week (10 for 50%) is required.
- GPA of 3.0 or higher is required.
- Admission and enrollment in a graduate program are required.
- Maintenance of a 67% course completion is required.
- Enrollment in at least 6 credits for Fall and Winter semesters is required.
A Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Sports Science, Sports Management or a related field is required.
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) credential is required.
CPR/AED certification is required.
Full-time enrollment in an Eastern Michigan University graduate program and compliance with eligibility requirements to serve as a graduate assistant is required.
Special Instructions
- Tuition coverage for up to 18 credit hours in each academic year (September 1 to August 31); $10,000 stipend (Fall and Spring) paid bi-weekly.
