Graduate Assistant, School of Graduate and Professional Studies
Job Duties
- Aid in maintaining student files and rosters
- Type, compose, and proofread correspondence, reports, schedules, or other materials
- Operate student information systems and databases for file maintenance
- Answer visitor inquiries regarding office matters
- Update websites and digital displays regularly
- Preserve confidentiality of student records in accordance with FERPA
- Perform other duties as directed
Minimum Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced skills in Excel and Word
- Accurate English language skills, including spelling, punctuation, and grammar
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, adaptable across various communication methods (telephone, email, social media, in-person)
- Willingness to take initiative
- Compliance with strict confidentiality standards
- Good academic standing and enrollment in a Cameron University graduate program
- Availability to work a minimum of 10 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Prioritized Qualifications
- Brief understanding of Microsoft Access databases
- Experience with digital media design
- Experience with Adobe applications (Acrobat, Photoshop, InDesign)
- Ability to update websites, social media, and digital displays regularly
