Part-time, 9-month graduate assistantship (10 hours per week) located at the Center for Lake Erie Education and Research (CLEER) within the Blasco Library in Erie, Pa.
About the Role
The graduate assistant will work with the director of Project NePTWNE to support various project needs, primarily focused on CLEER. Responsibilities include engaging with the public, sharing information about technology usage, and ensuring a welcoming environment for all visitors.
Responsibilities
- Gain awareness of personal strengths and weaknesses through public engagement.
- Communicate clearly about the proper usage of technology within the center.
- Monitor and respond to visitor needs based on situational context and logical analysis.
- Ensure all individuals feel welcomed, safe, and included within the center space.
- Employ strengths to achieve the overall mission of the center.
- Act professionally in the interest of Gannon University and the larger community.
- Collaborate inclusively and effectively with team members to create a hospitable work environment.
Requirements

- Timely and dependable.
- Welcoming and inclusive demeanor.
- Excellent English written and oral skills.
- Must be a graduate student pursuing an MS in Environmental Science and Engineering, Education, or a similar degree at Gannon University.
Physical Demands
Minimal physical demands; ability to safely lift 25 pounds and sit and/or stand for extended periods. Must be able to work in a busy environment.
