Graduate Assistant - Men’s Basketball

Position Summary

The University of Mount Saint Vincent, a member of NCAA Division III and the Skyline Conference, invites applications for a Graduate Assistant for the Men's Basketball program. This position is designed to provide hands-on coaching and administrative experience while supporting all aspects of a competitive collegiate basketball program.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach with daily operations of the Men's Basketball program
• Support practice planning, skill development, and game preparation
• Aid in recruiting efforts, including identification, communication, and campus visits
• Care for video breakdown and scouting reports
• Coordinate game day management and team travel logistics
• Maintain oversight of student-athlete academic progress and promote academic success
• Perform additional administrative duties within the Athletics Department as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required
• Acceptance into, or plans to apply to, a graduate program at the University of Mount Saint Vincent (Business or Education)
• Previous playing or coaching experience in basketball preferred
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
• Effective interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with student-athletes, coaches, support staff, campus community, and alumni
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge of NCAA Division III guidelines preferred
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
• Valid Driver's License

Benefits

• Annual stipend: $18,000
