About the role

Southern Nazarene University is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as a graduate assistant coach for the SNU Men’s & Women’s Rugby Program as it competes in the NCR DI category. The successful candidate will have a mature, growing relationship with Christ and collegiate coaching or playing experience. Applicants must be willing to lead the JV program if applicable and assist as a member of the varsity coaching staff in all areas.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Coach in providing leadership for the SNU Men’s & Women’s Rugby Program.
  • Play an integral role in day-to-day administrative responsibilities, player and team spiritual development, daily team training, evaluation and recruitment of student-athletes, academic monitoring, and skill development of players.
  • Work within SNU and NCR guidelines to provide student-athletes with an exceptional collegiate experience while competing for championships.

Requirements

  • College undergraduate completion.
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience and/or relevant training.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple demands in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Typing and spelling competency.
  • Experience with various computer software applications.
  • Data entry experience.
  • Profess faith in Jesus Christ, possess a strong personal Christian commitment, and be committed to the SNU Mission “to make Christlike disciples through higher education” in a Christ-centered community.
  • Understand and embrace the biblical principle that all people are created in the image of God and should be treated with dignity and respect, including a belief in equal opportunity to work, contribute, and flourish without discrimination.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some coaching experience.
  • Experience in higher education.
