About the role

The University of Indianapolis seeks a Graduate Assistant to enhance the fan and participant experience at UIndy Athletic Events. This role involves leading staff, training them in customer service standards, communicating logistics, and assisting with facility setup and breakdown.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and execute a comprehensive plan for delivering a best-in-class experience.
  • Recruit, train, and lead a team of student assistants as primary customer service liaisons.
  • Ensure venue safety, security, and cleanliness daily.
  • Aid with event setup and teardown.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned external event rentals.
  • Assume the role of Game Manager as needed.
  • Manage facility checklist items.

Requirements/Minimum Qualifications

  • Previous experience in athletic administration, marketing, communications, event management, or related fields is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Acceptance into a UIndy graduate program required.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Adobe Creative Suite, StatCrew, NCAA LiveStats, and/or social media platforms preferred (based on area).
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Experience

  • Previous experience in athletic administration, marketing, communications, event management, or related fields is preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Acceptance into a UIndy graduate program required.

Other Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness to travel and work evenings/weekends as needed.
