Job Summary

The graduate assistant coach supports the philosophy, goals, and mission of both the college and its Athletic program, adhering to NCAA Division III rules and regulations. Key responsibilities include recruitment and retention of student-athletes, academic support, practice and game preparation, scouting, fundraising, and assisting with athletic department events.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead administrator/head coach when the head coach is unavailable
  • Recruit and retain student-athletes
  • Contribute to the academic success of student-athletes
  • Prepare practices and games
  • Scout opponents
  • Assist with fundraising
  • Work closely with other department coaches and administrators for rules compliance, athletic training, strength & conditioning, media relations, etc.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Playing and/or coaching experience plus an understanding of NCAA Division III Rules Compliance
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • First Aid, AED, and CPR certifications or willingness to obtain upon hiring
  • Valid driver’s license and availability to drive team vans when needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Coach experience within a NCAA Division III intercollegiate program
  • Prior experience with recruiting, skill instruction, practice/game plan development, and administrative responsibilities
  • Fiscal management and recruiting experience

Compensation

$5,000 and tuition waiver for 12 graduate credit hours from Aug. 1, 2026, through May 31, 2027.
