About the role
The Graduate Assistant, Athletic Development will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Athletic Development team at Fairfield University, including supporting athletic development events, managing content for fundraising campaigns, and utilizing social media.
Responsibilities
- Work with Assistant Director of Athletic Annual Giving & Events, Friends of Athletics Groups, and head coaches to support the planning & staffing of athletic development events
- Create and manage content to be used for Athletics Phon-a-thon and Thank-o-thon calling throughout the year
- Aid in the Senior Class Gift campaign for athletics, collection of money, and marketing needs for the program
- Aid in the use and implementation of social media channels (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn) to sustain and enhance a culture of philanthropy around Fairfield Athletic Development
- Assist in distributing gift reports, thank you notes, and collecting thank you notes to be sent out to donors
- Work with coaches to assist in the annual giving program, creation, development, and implementation of fundraising events, emails, and follow-ups
- Help drive participation and fundraising success on GivingTuesday and STAGiving Day for Club, Recreation and Intramural Sports
- Assist with day-to-day operations of the Athletic Development office
Qualifications/Skills Required
- Enrolled in a Graduate Degree program
- Interested in working in Sports and Development
- Past experience in collegiate athletics at the Division I, II, or III level (Varsity or Club level)
- Must be available for work on nights and weekends
- Must be able to work with confidential information on alumni, parents and other donors
Benefits
Compensation: $12,000 stipend, 18 graduate credit hours per year
