About the role

Larkspur Middle School seeks a dedicated and experienced Grade 6 English Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills through engaging lessons and activities.

Responsibilities

• Instruct English classes in accordance with Virginia state standards and curriculum guidelines.
• Create and implement lesson plans that are aligned with educational goals and objectives.
• Evaluate student progress and provide feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
• Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic growth and social development.
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary units and share best practices.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and techniques.

Requirements

• Valid Virginia teaching license with endorsement in English.
• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
• At least three years of successful teaching experience at the middle school level.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other educators and support staff.

• Experience with differentiated instruction and assessment strategies.
• Knowledge of Common Core State Standards and other relevant educational frameworks.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
