Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and transport equipment to move materials, unload/load trucks, and support daily plant operations.
- Ensure a safe and efficient workplace while maintaining compliance with company policies, safety guidelines, and food safety practices.
- Load/unload incoming and outgoing trucks, including grower shipments.
- Prepare delivery receipts, shipping documents, and airway bills as needed.
- Inspect and perform minor repairs/adjustments on equipment.
- Aid with repairs and servicing of equipment.
- Maintain clean and safe work areas, following all safety and food safety procedures.
- Support utility crew operations, including repair/maintenance of treatment bins.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma preferred (not required).
- One year of forklift driving experience required.
- Previous experience in food handling or a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to read and follow instructions (written and oral).
- Strong teamwork, dependability, and adaptability.
- Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in cold/hot environments.
Position Summary

Work Environment & Requirements
- PPE (hair net, smock, sleeves, long pants, non-slip footwear) required.
- Exposure to cold or hot environments and moving machinery.
- Must adhere to Calavo’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Responsible for food safety and security awareness in daily duties.
- Per Union Agreement.
