About the role

The Oxford Hills School District seeks an enthusiastic and innovative 5/6 STEM teacher to join the Otisfield Community School team. This role requires a candidate who can inspire curiosity, challenge critical thinking, and bring hands-on innovation to every lesson.

Requirements

• Hold a valid Maine certificate or be able to obtain one with appropriate endorsement(s).

• Employ best practices for motivating today's students in a safe, supportive learning environment.
• Develop real-world learning experiences and community partnerships to extend students' learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in teaching STEM subjects to 5th and 6th graders.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students to become curious learners and ethical leaders.
• Knowledge of best practices for delivering strong literacy instruction across content areas.
• Willingness to adapt lessons to meet students' personal learning needs and preferences, including appropriate technology applications.

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and community partners.
• Proficiency in using technology to enhance learning experiences.
• Experience in developing real-world learning experiences and community partnerships.
