Grade 5-6 Social Studies Teacher for CMS
Qualifications
Masters of Education from an accredited college or university.
A valid New Hampshire Teacher Certificate with appropriate endorsement.
Professional verification of successful classroom teacher performance and/or student teaching experience.
Ability to work collaboratively to achieve the overall purposes of the school program.
Supervises
Classroom and Special Education Paraprofessionals assigned to his/her room.
Evaluation
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Agreement between the FMRSD and the Fall Mountain Teachers Association, Inc.

The teacher is responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for academic, artistic, athletic, and social growth.

Instructional Program
Incorporate the New Hampshire Frameworks and Grade Level Expectations into daily and long term planning.
Plan for children with different learning styles and abilities.
Utilize data from standardized and teacher made assessments to drive instruction.
Exhibit a deep and accurate understanding of subject area knowledge.
Utilize research based teaching strategies.
Work collaboratively with specialists and colleagues to plan effective instruction for all children.
Clearly communicate the learning objective and the importance of the learning to all students.
Prepare plans for substitute teachers.
Communicate with parents/guardians of all students as necessary.
Work to improve student performance and supports the district goal of improving standardized testing results by 5-7 percentage points each year.
Integrate technology into the curriculum for all students.
Classroom Management
Provide for adequate protection of students.
Maintain appropriate student records.
Administer testing situations according to state and local guidelines.
Engage parents to assist in discipline.
Teach effectively and with professional demeanor.
Set high expectations for students.
Praise academic achievement.
Use clarity of explanation and presentation.
Supervise group work effectively.
Interaction
Create an atmosphere of mutual respect.
Build students' self-esteem and confidence.
Set an appropriate example for students in personal hygiene and appearance.
