About The Position
This is a 1.0 FTE non-continuing position for a Grade 4/5 Split Teacher at Spruce Elementary. It is a leave-replacement position scheduled to start at the beginning of the 2026-27 school year until December 18, 2026. Preference will be given to candidates holding an ELL, ESOL, or Bilingual endorsement. SIOP and GLAD training, provided by the Multilingual Education Department, are mandatory for all new employees unless previous completion is demonstrated.
Required Qualifications
- A Washington State Teaching Certificate with an Elementary Education endorsement, or the ability to obtain one before the position start date.
Salary
2025-26 Salary Schedule Range: $83,305 through $148,226 (2026-27 Salary Schedule not yet finalized). Placement on this schedule is determined by FTE and official documentation verifying educational level and certificated work experience, with proration for less than a full year and/or FTE.

Physical Requirements/Demands
- Navigating various school and classroom environments
- Assisting students who need physical support or exhibit challenging behaviors
- Communicating with others regularly
- Frequent manual work using hands or fingers
- Occasional reaching, bending, or twisting
- Moving objects regularly weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds
- Visual tasks requiring close-range work and focus adjustments
