About the role
St. Anselm School serves over 260 students in grades PreK 3 through grade 8. Since 1963, St. Anselm has provided an academically rigorous education permeated with the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.
Responsibilities
- Promote and integrate Catholic values and teachings into the daily classroom environment, guiding students in their spiritual and moral formation.
- Foster a Christ-centered classroom culture that encourages prayer, reflection, and a closer relationship with God.
- Design and execute daily and long-range lesson plans across all subject areas, aligned with diocesan standards and curriculum guidelines.
- Utilize diverse, creative instructional methods to keep students engaged, enthusiastic, and academically challenged.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, using data to differentiate instruction and support varied learning styles.
- Create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment conducive to academic success and personal growth.
- Collaborate actively with colleagues, administration, and staff to develop interdisciplinary activities, share best practices, and support school-wide initiatives.
- Maintain regular, transparent communication with parents and guardians, partnering with families to build trusted relationships and support student development.
- Fulfill supervisory duties (e.g., recess, lunch, dismissal) inside or outside the classroom as assigned.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school community events as required to support the school's overall mission.
Requirements
- A strong Catholic identity.
- A certified teacher with a degree in elementary education.
- Experience working with children in primary education.
- A personable, team player who demonstrates a true love for working with children.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in elementary education or related field.
- Valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate.
- At least three years of successful teaching experience in a K-8 setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
