GPV Lab Metrology Technician, PQ (Program)
About the role
Amazon’s Perfect Order Experience team safeguards global marketplaces by ensuring buyers receive authentic products in the expected condition and functionality. The Global Product Verification (GPV) team supports these goals by providing product authentication and verification services for third-party sellers. As a Lab Metrology Technician, you will expand and scale metrology-based applications—such as X-Ray, Digital Multimeter, Spectrometer, and Load testers—to establish product authenticity and support investigations. You will collaborate with the GPV investigations team to develop new metrology tools, including AI-driven solutions, and work closely with GPV leadership to align metrology strategy with long-term objectives, including regional expansion. You will also serve as the quality assurance authority for measurement instruments, ensuring accuracy, precision, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all metrology-based tools and systems enabling investigators to conduct product analysis at scale.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, ensuring the laboratory remains clean and organized.
- Interpret, analyze, and communicate results to relevant stakeholders.
- Provide weekly/monthly reporting (KPIs) on the impact and output of the lab.
- Follow standard operating procedures and good laboratory practices.
- Participate in internal and external audits, maintaining a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements.
- Generate and update standard operating procedures and test methods.
- Troubleshoot laboratory issues and recommend solutions.
- Provide support to other team members as needed.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all testing performed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Experience working cross-functionally and across regions.
- Experience in oral and written communication.
- Experience in trust and safety compliance or risk.
- Experience using Excel and SQL.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional experience.
- 4+ years of hardware development, test lab, or hands-on engineering environment experience.
- Master’s degree in engineering, physics, or equivalent.
- ASQ’s Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) or Coordinate Metrology Society (CMS) Level-One/Level-Two certification.
- Proficiency with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).

The base salary range for this position is $80,200.00 – $120,400.00 USD annually. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs) as part of the compensation package.
