About the Role

This Government Relations Manager role focuses on federal policy and is part of a fast-paced team that excels in collaborative strategy and individual implementation. The position advances and protects Mosaic’s interests through strategic government relations, stakeholder engagement, and public affairs initiatives. While initially remote, the role will transition to full-time in-person at the Washington, DC office by early 2027. The position reports to the Director of Federal Government Relations.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and understand emerging legislative and regulatory issues impacting Mosaic, engaging strategically in public policy debate and advocacy.
  • Proactively develop and advance Mosaic’s policy positions to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Map key stakeholders and conduct regular targeted outreach.
  • Assess opportunities and challenges related to Mosaic’s license to operate.
  • Serve as an advisor to industry and trade organizations and play an integral role in federal political strategy and activities, including MosaicPAC initiatives.
  • Foster and cultivate relationships with government officials, industry representatives, and community leaders to enhance the company’s reputation.
  • Partner with internal teams, particularly Public Affairs, to develop and execute integrated strategies for influencing public perception and aligning messaging.
  • Manage cross-functional issues, providing strategic public affairs counsel to leadership and developing multidisciplinary engagement plans.
  • Collaborate with global Public Affairs teams in Corporate, Florida, Canada, and Brazil to identify policy trends and craft consistent messaging that supports business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; major in a related field. Master’s degree preferred in Political Science, Law and Legal Studies, or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of government (Legislative or Executive Branch) experience from policy advocacy organizations or legal experience.
  • Proven experience in government relations, public affairs, or a similar role, with a strong understanding of the political landscape and legislative processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
  • Strong research and analytical skills to assess policy impacts and develop effective strategies.
  • Ability to cultivate relationships with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, industry representatives, and community organizations.
  • Experience on Capitol Hill or in the Executive Branch strongly preferred.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $104,000 – $169,000. Mosaic is a pay-for-performance company, and total compensation is based on individual performance and contribution.
