Government Healthcare Financial Consulting Manager

About the role

As a Government Healthcare Financial Consulting Manager, you will partner with state governments and internal teams to manage overall service delivery and strategy for Mercer’s financial and consulting support. This includes examining financial reports to understand emerging Medicaid healthcare experience, the financial performance of managed care organizations, and ensuring Medicaid dollars are utilized efficiently. We specialize in assisting government-sponsored programs in becoming more efficient purchasers of health services, bringing critical thinkers forward to help clients address their challenges.

Responsibilities

• Work with client and team project managers to clearly define the scope, timelines, and deliverables of the project.
• Ensure development and propose essential project documents, including the budget and work plans.
• Maintain regular communication with the client to review project status and expectations.
• Provide expertise and insight to the client and team to solve potential problems within the project; manage scope, budget, and timelines.
• Lead and partner with a team of analysts, actuaries, consultants, and subject matter experts to achieve overall client service delivery success.
• Thrive in an environment that embraces AI and technology-enabled tools.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree.
• 10+ years of experience managing and leading teams or projects, consulting, or financial analysis.
• Ability to lead large teams, projects, and initiatives in a dynamic environment.
• Advanced MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Medicaid program experience is strongly preferred.
• Healthcare financial or data analysis experience, including financial modeling or rate setting, is strongly preferred.

Pay

The applicable base salary range for this role is $115,200 to $230,400. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. This position may also be eligible for performance-based incentives.

Schedule

Marsh is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections, and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.
