Government Contracts Specialist
About the Opportunity
A Technology Co. is looking for a contracts specialist with 5+ years' experience having experience with Government Contracts (Including Federal, State, and Municipal) for a 3-4 month engagement starting as soon as possible. The work will involve owning the day-to-day management of government contracts — from pre-award review through administration and closeout — and serving as a trusted internal resource on federal acquisition requirements. The selected candidate will partner closely with the legal team and cross-functional stakeholders across technology, product, design, build, manufacturing, supply chain, and R&D to ensure the company's government engagements are reviewed, tracked, and administered in full compliance with applicable federal regulations and contract terms.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the legal team's contracts review function by reading, interpreting, and evaluating government contract terms and conditions, identifying risks and non-standard terms, and communicating findings to counsel and senior management.
- Manage the full lifecycle of the company's government contracts — including prime contracts, subcontracts, task and delivery orders, blanket agreements, and modifications — from pre-award review through administration and closeout.
- Serve as an internal resource on OTA, FAR, DFARS, and other applicable federal acquisition regulations and contracting types, advising teams on compliance requirements, flow-down clauses, and contractual obligations.
- Support the drafting, review, and negotiation of government-facing agreements, NDAs, teaming agreements, and contract modification requests in coordination with the applicable internal stakeholders and counsel.
- Track and manage contract deliverables, reporting obligations, representations and certifications, and key dates, escalating risks and deadlines proactively.
- Coordinate responses to government requests, contract audits, and inquiries, and support related compliance matters in partnership with the legal team.
- Monitor new and proposed laws, regulations, and policy changes affecting government contracting and assess their potential impact on current and future company contracts.
Requirements
- 5+ years' experience with Government Contracts (Including Federal, State, and Municipal).
- Both full-time (30-40 hours per week) and part-time (10-20 hours per week) are encouraged to apply for this role.
- Candidates will be employed through an Employer of Record (W-2) for the duration of the engagement.
- The client will consider both full-time and part-time candidates.
- The work will be performed remotely.
