Government and Public Sector - Assurance - Senior Manager

The Government & Public Sector Assurance practice is growing exponentially. As a Senior Manager, you’ll play a key role in that growth, supported by substantial investments in technology, knowledge, and learning resources. You’ll develop your career by communicating and providing expertise around data integrity to improve insight within accounting, finance, governance, and regulatory spaces.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for clients, building relationships and managing teams and projects.
• Develop knowledge of current issues, profession, and business developments relevant to the client’s industry.
• Direct field work, inform supervisors of audit engagement status, and manage assurance staff performance.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of complex accounting and auditing concepts and apply them to client situations.
• Develop people through effective delegation of audit tasks, providing guidance, performance feedback, training, and reviews for assurance staff.
• Contribute ideas and opinions to assurance teams, listen and respond to team members’ views, and foster an efficient, innovative, and team-oriented work environment.
• Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery.
• Develop an understanding of EY’s service lines and actively seek opportunities to apply the firm’s services.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree and approximately 8 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 7 years of related work experience.
• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• U.S. CPA license.
• Approximately 4 years of audit experience with a public accounting firm.
• Excellent project management skills and advanced written and verbal communication skills.
• Dedication to teamwork and leadership, with integrity within a professional environment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance or higher.
• Willingness to travel on average 25% to 30% or more in a hybrid environment, including potential travel beyond your work location based on client and project needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• CGFM and/or CDFM certification.

Pay

The base salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the U.S. is $109,900 to $250,900. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento) is $131,900 to $285,100. Individual salaries are determined by factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.

Schedule

Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client-serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project, or year.
