Government Affairs Policy Advisor
Job Summary
The salary range for this position is $80,000.00 to $115,000.00 annually.
Essential Functions
- Track and analyze proposed legislation and regulations at the local, state, and federal levels.
- Evaluate the impact of public policy changes on operations, finances, and strategic initiatives.
- Draft policy briefs, position statements, and regulatory comment letters.
- Develop and maintain relationships with elected officials, legislative staff, agency personnel, and healthcare associations.
- Cook up leadership participation in advocacy efforts, including legislative meetings, hearings, and events.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, finance, and clinical departments to assess policy implications.
- Build alliances with community organizations, peer organizations, and advocacy groups to support common goals.
- Organize site visits, tours, and public affairs events for policymakers and partners.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree or Juris Doctor Law preferred.
- Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, legislative advocacy, or related area required, but most preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities: Knowledge of healthcare systems, hospital operations, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., state agencies, CMS, HHS, ACA, Medicaid/Medicare). Strong political acumen and established relationships with key government stakeholders. Excellent research, writing, and presentation skills. Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently and in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
