The Governance Analyst II Role

The Governance Analyst II role is equivalent to a Conflicts Analyst position at most other law firms.

Residency Requirements

  • Washington D.C.: For all positions based in the Washington, D.C. office, residency within Washington D.C., Maryland or Virginia and within a reasonable commutable distance to the assigned office is required depending on the firm's discretion and the nature of the role.
  • Los Angeles and San Francisco Offices: For all positions based in the Los Angeles and San Francisco offices, residency within the state of California and within a reasonable commutable distance to the assigned office is required depending on the firm's discretion and the nature of the role.

Salary Range

$44.69/HR - $60.34/HR ($92,955.20 - $125,507.20 annually)

Job Functions & Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise to the governance program, including conflicts checks, new matter intake, ethical walls, records management, outside counsel guidelines, and audit letters
  • Conduct conflicts checks for new client/matters, pitches, prospective attorneys, and professionals
  • Prepare and analyze conflicts reports to identify potential conflicts issues
  • Communicate potential conflicts issues to attorneys and other interested parties; assist with conflicts resolution
  • Document and maintain matter lifecycle data in Intapp, 3E, and other systems
  • Complete new business intake forms and provide administrative support for the intake review process
  • Draft, analyze, and review engagement letters; evaluate the need for ethical walls
  • Set up ethical walls in billing and document management systems; draft and circulate ethical screening memoranda

Firmwide Tools Proficiency

  • Proficiency with conflicts database systems (e.g., Intapp, 3E, Aderant, Legal Key) is required
  • Proficiency with records, intake, and secure file transfer systems (e.g., Intapp, 3E, FileTrail, Varonis, Kiteworks) is desired
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is desired
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 (e.g., Microsoft SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive) and document management systems is desired

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, advanced degree a plus
  • 3+ years law firm conflicts, governance, or records experience
  • Excellent attention to detail, critical thinking, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work proactively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, interacting professionally with others
