About the role
One Planet One People (1POP) is a global nonprofit dedicated to integrating sports, sustainability, and social change. Our Sustainable Sports Network (SSN) offers 40+ customizable programs aligned with the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), working with sports leagues, teams, athletes, corporations, and governments to enhance social impact and community engagement.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a frontline liaison between 1POP's Sustainable Sports Network and your sports contacts, including athletes, team front offices, leagues, and sports associations
- Pitch 1POP's ESG, EDI, and CSR fan-based programs and initiatives to sports organizations looking to deepen their social impact and community engagement
- Support outreach, engagement, and activation campaigns aligned with the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals
- Help design and execute fan-based 'Be the Hero' participation programs within stadiums, arenas, and digital platforms
- Aid in building and managing partnerships with sports leagues, teams, sponsors, and community organizations
- Contribute to content creation, social media, PR, and marketing promotion efforts for the SSN
- Participate in our global Collaboration Think Tank Network, sharing ideas and strategies with partners across 200+ countries
- Support institutional behavioral change initiatives targeting environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and health equity
- Track, document, and report on partnership development activities, outreach results, and engagement metrics
Requirements
- Active, demonstrable connections to professional or collegiate sports (athletes, teams, leagues, agencies, media)
- Background or coursework in Sports Management, Communications, PR, Business, or Social Impact
- Passion for social justice, environmental sustainability, and/or youth empowerment
- Experience with CSR, ESG, EDI, or nonprofit programming
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with the UN Sustainable Development Goals
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently
- Social media marketing or content creation skills
- Commitment to collaboration, civility, and inclusion
- Multilingual abilities (global scope preferred)
Qualifications
