Google Data Engineer
About the role
Slalom is a consulting company that helps clients transform digitally. The Google Center of Excellence (COE) within Slalom focuses on enhancing client products with intelligent data solutions using Google Cloud.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and modernize enterprise data platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Deliver solutions using BigQuery, Dataplex, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Vertex AI, Looker, and other Google Cloud services.
- Help clients migrate and modernize data estates, implement real-time and batch pipelines, enable governed analytics, and accelerate AI-ready data foundations.
- Engage in design sessions and be responsible for the timely completion of development items assigned to you in a project backlog.
- Work in a hybrid environment, with expectations to be in-person with Slalom teams and clients as needed.
Requirements
- Passion for Google Cloud and modern data engineering.
- Continuous skill expansion through hands-on delivery, certifications, and collaboration across the Google COE.
- Experience with Big Data Platforms (Dataproc, Apache Spark), Google BigQuery, BigLake, Cloud SQL, Python, Java, SQL, Firestore, Bigtable, Spanner, MongoDB, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Apache Kafka, Managed Airflow, dbt, Dataplex.
- Experience with Nice to Have Tools: Looker, Looker Studio, Gemini Enterprise, AI, ML Ops.

- Experience with modern data platforms and Google Cloud services.
- Ability to solve complex data challenges and build scalable, secure, cloud-native platforms.

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices with a base salary range of $100,000 - $115,000 for Consultant, depending on experience.
Pay
The base salary pay range is $100,000 - $115,000 for Consultant, depending on experience. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.

Slalom offers a hybrid work schedule, with expectations to be in-person with Slalom teams and clients as needed.
