Work Location: 100% Remote (candidate must be located in MN or NC). Preference given to candidates with current or prior government agency experience, large enterprise environment support, and active certifications. Candidates must have no employment gaps and a minimum of 2 years in each prior position. Resumes should be 4-5 pages in length.
Responsibilities
- Design and architect cloud solutions (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) aligned with a Microservices/SOA framework; produce implementation-ready documentation including bill of materials and cost estimates.
- Develop and publish cloud policies, design patterns, and reference architectures for consistent, repeatable solutions.
- Champion cultural change, build cloud adoption roadmaps, and communicate cloud strategies to stakeholders at all levels.
- Prepare solution descriptions, technical approach documents, assumptions, risk assessments, and mitigation plans.
- Ensure all solutions comply with enterprise technology standards, security requirements, and industry best practices.
- Identify skill gaps, develop training materials, and deliver technical guidance to engineers and management.
- Interface with vendors to ensure standard architectures are followed across projects.
- Leverage AI to accelerate on-prem-to-GCP migration and automate systems, applications, and workflows to improve efficiency and decision-making.
- Automate complex tasks and integrate cloud services with on-premise and third-party platforms.
- Act as an IT SWAT team member for high-priority problem resolution across design, development, and operations.
- Translate complex technical concepts for both technical teams and executive leadership; produce briefings, technical documentation, and architecture diagrams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 13 years of IT experience, or 17 years of IT experience without a degree.
- Must be eligible for a Position of Public Trust, including U.S. citizenship or permanent residency, five years of U.S. residency, and no more than six months of international travel in the past five years (excluding travel for U.S.-based work or Military Service).
- Active Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Certification (GCP Associate or Professional).
- Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and scaling solutions on Google Cloud.
- Ability to integrate GCP with SaaS and on-premise platforms (Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, SAP, Linux, etc.).
- Current knowledge of AI and industry trends, applied to modernize and accelerate software delivery practices (Agile, TDD, CI/CD) and enterprise IT standards.
- Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure: networking, compute, storage, virtualization, high availability, and monitoring.
- Scripting/automation proficiency: Python, Shell, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, or similar.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and Kafka deployment in production environments.
- Proficiency in Generative AI and prompt engineering.
- Knowledge of IT compliance frameworks (SOX, PCI) in cloud environments.
- Experience with ITSM/ticketing system integrations and workflow processes.
- Familiarity with monitoring-as-code practices and version control systems.

Clearance
- Candidates with or who have held at least a Public Trust Clearance will be prioritized.
- Must have lived in the U.S. for at least 5 years.

Schedule
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Some travel may be required to support program needs.
