About the role

The Golf Services Attendant role is located at North Shore Preserve, a private community on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. This role is open to both external applicants and current internal employees.

Responsibilities

  • Greet members upon arrival and departure on the range.
  • Aid in service during their round and promptly respond to any player requests.
  • Work in conjunction with the valet team and assist as needed.
  • Communicate with departments regarding members transitioning through property.
  • Stock and restock golf carts with beverages, towels, and other amenities as needed.
  • Maintain clean shuttles, club carts, and personal golf carts throughout the day.
  • Clean all players' clubs before and after each round.
  • Complete daily set-up/breakdown of all range equipment, amenities, and activities.
  • Close duties to include but not limited to removing range furniture, washing golf balls, restocking buckets, cleaning carts, and plugging carts into a charging station.
  • Aid in the Golf Shop as a retail associate as requested.
  • Accurately track all daily golf activity.
  • Assist with monthly inventory count.
  • Opportunity to provide caddie services if qualified and requested by the Director of Golf.
  • Attend department meetings and trainings as necessary.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Valet

  • Meet and greet all arriving/departing members and guests in a timely manner.
  • Park and retrieve member, guest, and customer vehicles or golf carts in specified areas in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Will be responsible to drive, pick up, or drop off members and VIP guests around the local area, which includes the airport.
  • Responsible to perform drive and park assignments per department policies/procedures.
  • Ensure that parking areas are clean and orderly.
  • Provide member assistance and information, such as giving directions, handling baggage, assisting with wheelchairs loading and unloading, etc.
  • Ensure that members' and guests' belongings are retrieved and delivered to the proper outlet.
  • Maintain clean transportation shuttles and company vehicles (basic cleaning services including car wash, wiping interiors, and brief vacuuming to remove sand and dirt, but not full detailing services).
  • Check the condition of the transport vehicle's tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure everything is in working order.
  • Prepare and submit reports that include number of passenger trips, ridership, hours worked, mileage, and fuel consumption.
  • Comply with local and public traffic laws, and highway safety rules and regulations in operating vehicles.
  • Operate light and heavy passenger vans and buses for transport to airports, off-site housing, off-site entertainment/activities and more as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a hospitality or golf-related environment.
  • Knowledge of golf etiquette, rules, and terminology is preferred, but not required.
  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
