Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Golf Director or designee, the Golf Marshal is responsible for promoting an exceptional golf experience by maintaining pace of play, enforcing course rules and etiquette, assisting customers, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the golf course.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience Requirements: A high school diploma or G.E.D. preferred. Customer service experience preferred. Golf course experience preferred.
- Employment Requirements: Applicant will be subject to a complete background investigation. Incomplete, inaccurate and/or failure to report information will cause the applicant rejection from consideration. Applicant must take and pass a pre-employment drug, physical and pre-placement screening administered by the City of Mission appointed physician at the City’s expense. Applicant must have a current valid class “C” driver license from the Department of Public Safety with no more than two (2) moving traffic violations within the past two (2) years.
Essential Job Functions
- Maintain pace of play throughout the golf course.
- Promote compliance with golf course rules, policies, and proper golf etiquette.
- Provide courteous assistance and information to golfers.
- Address minor customer concerns in a professional and respectful manner.
- Observe course conditions and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Aid with tournaments, leagues, outings, and special events.
- Coordinate with golf operations staff to ensure efficient golfing experience.
- Serve as a Starter by managing tee times and assisting with player check-in.
- Perform Golf Cart Attendant duties, including preparing, cleaning, staging, charging, fueling, and storing golf carts.
- Assist in the Pro Shop with customer service, merchandise sales, green fee collection, food and beverage sales, reservations, and point-of-sale transactions.
- Assist with driving range and practice facility operations.
- Support tournaments, special events, night golf operations, and promotional activities.
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of golf course facilities and customer service areas.
- Frequently stand, walk, and drive golf carts.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Bend, stoop, push, pull, and perform routine physical tasks.
- Work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
- Perform other related golf course operational duties as assigned.
Non-Essential Job Functions
- Assists/runs golf tournaments and or leagues.
Equipment/Materials
- General office and safety equipment/materials to include but not limited to the following: City vehicle, Personal computer, Printer, Cash register 10-key calculator, Copy machine, Fax machine Telephone, 2-way communication radio, Golf cart Stapler, rulers, Pens, pencils, highlighters, Golf bucket Golf balls, Clothing inventory, Speaker phone
Work Environment
Work is performed primarily outdoors with exposure to varying weather conditions, uneven terrain, moving golf carts, maintenance equipment, and frequent interaction with the public.
Manual Dexterity
Both fine and gross hand manipulation is required to perform essential job functions. Fine hand manipulation is utilized to document information. Gross hand manipulation is required.
