Golf Course Superintendent

Parkland Golf & Country Club, located in Parkland, FL, is a premier community offering a distinctive blend of active recreational living, exceptional amenities, and unparalleled convenience. About the role

The Golf Course Superintendent oversees the maintenance of the golf course and ensures that turf grass is repaired and maintained to established standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain championship quality greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers.
• Assist the Director of Agronomy in preparation and execution of the annual golf course maintenance budget and capital plans.
• Supervise and assist maintenance staff in daily duties.
• Oversee cultural practices involved in growing various turf grasses.
• Maintain records of all chemical and fertilizer applications.
• Ensure maintenance equipment is properly maintained.
• Implement sound purchasing procedures utilizing preferred vendors.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and government regulations.
• Ensure proper training and/or licenses for all associates to perform job tasks safely and within regulations.
• Address environmental concerns directly.
• Ensure proper mixing, calibration, and application of all chemicals/fertilizers used on the course.
• Manage department members, including Assistant Superintendent, 2nd Assistant Superintendent, Head Mechanic, Environmental Technician, Equipment Operator, Foreman, Greenskeeper, and Irrigation Technician.
• Provide effective orientation and ongoing training for new and existing associates.
• Incorporate safe work practices in job performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree, or equivalent from college or technical school; or three to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Degree preference in agronomy, horticulture, plant, or soil science.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Pesticide Application License or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Ability to read and speak English to perform job duties (e.g., communication with English-speaking customers or co-workers, equipment manuals in English).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

• Regularly lifts up to 50 pounds; occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds.
• Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, fumes, and/or airborne particles.
• Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions.
• Moderate noise level in the work environment.

Pay

Base salary $90,000.00 to $110,000.00 plus annual performance bonus.
