Golf Course Maintenance Worker

About the Role

This position involves semi-skilled manual and skilled equipment operation work in golf course maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Water greens and tees
• Maintain sand traps
• Change cups on greens and tee markers
• Mow turf with sophisticated golf maintenance equipment
• Pick up debris, leaves, and broken tree limbs
• Perform related work as required
• Report to permanent Golf Course Green Keepers

Requirements

• Ability to perform heavy manual labor and follow oral and written instructions without close supervision
• Skilled in the use of hand and mechanical tools and equipment
• Must obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of employment (free classes provided by the City for Parks employees; certification must be from an organization approved by the Bureau of Community and Health Systems, Child Care Licensing Division)

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of the proper use and operation of equipment used in golf course maintenance
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and some experience in grounds keeping, or any equivalent combination of education and experience

• Ability to perform routine moderate lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs., including backpack mowers, tree trimmers, fertilizer bags, and buckets with sand.

Pay

Starting hourly rate: $16.93
